Alyssa joined Fidelis MGU in 2023 as an underwriting assistant on the Property D&F team. Alyssa graduated from university in 2022 with an Undergraduate Degree in International Business and a Postgraduate Degree in Finance. Prior to joining, she gained experience at Convex on the International Property Treaty team and at Ariel in Finance and Operations.

Anthi is a D&F Underwriter at Fidelis MGU. Anthi joined Fidelis Insurance in 2020 as a Risk Analyst for North American Property Reinsurance and joined the D&F team as an underwriter 2023. Anthi began her career in 2011 as an intern at Hiscox, joining Tokio Millennium Re as a Senior Analyst for the North American Property Reinsurance, Workers Compensation and Terror teams in 2012. Anthi graduated from University College London with a degree in Palaeobiology and a Masters in Quaternary Science.

Ben Bermuda CUO at Fidelis MGU. Ben has worked in the London market for 8 years in a number of roles including actuarial, broking and underwriting. He joined Fidelis Insurance from London ILS Fund Leadenhall Capital Partners, where he was responsible for Retro, ILW and Specialty Investments as well as leading the company’s analytical work. Before then, Ben worked in the Aon Benfield retro team, providing pricing and structuring support for brokers.

Originally working in the operations department he switched to underwriting supporting North American Underwriting. He now supports the Property Reinsurance team on whole being both International and North America. Jahvon graduated from St. John’s University in New York City with a degree in Risk Management and Insurance. He also holds the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and Associate in Reinsurance (ARe) designations.

Mark is Deputy Group Head of D&F Property at Fidelis MGU. Mark joined Fidelis Insurance in May 2020 as an Underwriter for Property Direct & Facultative. Mark began his career at Commonwealth Insurance Company in Vancouver Canada in 2004, becoming the Senior Underwriter for production and marketing throughout the US. In 2012 Mark moved to London to work in the Lloyd’s of London marketplace where he helped build the Navigators and Vibe property portfolios. Mark has a BA degree in Education from the University of Alberta.

Nadia is Head of International Reinsurance at Fidelis MGU. Nadia joined Fidelis Insurance in 2021 from Willis Re where she led the London desk handling German, Austrian and Swiss client reinsurance business. Nadia was also responsible for Willis Re’s International Alternative Capital Practice Group. In her role she managed global accounts as well as regional clients with a focus on German speaking markets. Nadia has a strong technical background, obtaining a diploma degree in Mathematics from the University of Leipzig and qualifying as an actuary with the German Institute of Actuaries in 2019.

Paulina has nine years of insurance industry experience, specialising in multiple lines of insurance business. She was previously employed as Cyber Claim Counsel at Travelers, and prior to that as Wordings Attorney at Beazley. Paulina is a US-qualified attorney, having graduated with her Juris Doctor from University of Connecticut School of Law in 2019.

Geoff Head of UK Claims and Group Claims Operations Manager at Fidelis MGU. Geoff  joined Fidelis Insurance in 2018 from Singapore where he was Senior Adjuster for specialty claims at Axa XL (formerly XL Catlin). Prior to that he worked as an Aviation claims specialist with Catlin and XL Catlin in London. Before joining the insurance industry, Geoff worked for 6 years as a project manager in the arts and entertainment industries. He has a Bachelor of Arts from Newcastle-upon-Tyne (2006) and a Master of Studies from Oxford (2012).

Karen is Head of Bermuda Claims and Operations Manager at Fidelis MGU. Karen joined Fidelis Insurance in 2021 as a Senior Claims Adjuster in the Bermuda office.  Prior to joining Fidelis, Karen was at AIG in the Multinational division where she held several roles, from producing to reinsurance recoverables, and eventually to managing the main reinsurance services office responsible for handling all of AIG’s global fronting programs.

Mr Brindle is Group CEO and Chairman of Fidelis MGU. Mr. Brindle has a career of over 35 years in the insurance industry. Before establishing Fidelis Insurance, Richard was the driving force behind Lancashire, founding the company in October 2005 and acting as CEO until April 2014. Lancashire’s innovative and rigorous underwriting approach meant it consistently outperformed its insurance peers. Richard’s insurance career began in 1984 at Posgate and Denby Managing Agency, and since then has included spells at Syndicate 488, Charman Underwriting – where he was the main underwriter – Tarquin Underwriting from 1991 to 1998, and Ascot Underwriting Agency, where he was a non-executive board member from December 2001 to September 2005.

Mike Cottell is Group General Counsel and Group Company Secretary at Fidelis MGU. With more than 20 years of legal and insurance experience, Mike joined Fidelis Insurance in 2017 and oversees the legal, claims, compliance, company secretarial and communications functions in the business. He has worked on multiple debt, equity and cat bond raises, as well as the recent bifurcation of Fidelis into the current Balance Sheet and MGU Structure. In addition to his role at Fidelis MGU, Mike is also a member of the Group’s Executive Committee and a Director at Pine Walk Capital (Fidelis MGU’s MGA incubator). After graduating from Oxford Mike started his career at Clifford Chance, one of the Magic Circle, and focused in his early career in private practice on (re)insurance coverage, wordings and disputes.

Richard is Deputy Group CUO and CEO of Insurance at Fidelis MGU. Rich Coulson joined Fidelis Insurance in 2015. With fifteen years of insurance industry experience, including both underwriting and broking, Rich joined Fidelis from RK Harrison, where he was Executive Director of Political Risk, Structured Credit and Surety. His early career was spent at MMC Capital and Marsh, where he focused on structuring alternative risk transfer, and captive solutions. After Marsh, Rich spent three years at Hiscox underwriting the company’s space and satellite and offshore energy books – winning the Hiscox Award for Innovation whilst there, before returning to broking and serving as a partner at JLT, specialising in Credit and Political Risk. Rich was elected a fellow of both the Chartered Institute of Insurers and Chartered Institute of Risk Management eleven years ago and during his career has also won the IRM Award for Risk Analysis excellence and an ABI Young Insurer of the Year award – recognising his work on developing innovative new products within the insurance industry. Rich is a member of the Executive Committee.

Jonny is Head of Strategic Relationships at Fidelis MGU. Jonny joined Fidelis Insurance in July 2018. Bringing over 20 years’ experience, Creagh-Coen joins from Lancashire where he was Head of Investor Relations and Marketing for 10 years. Prior to that he was founding member of Execution Limited, which provided asset managers with execution, sales, trading, research and corporate access services. Jonny is a member of the Executive Committee.

Michael is UK CUO & Group Head of D&F Property, Energy and Construction at Fidelis MGU. Michael joined Fidelis Insurance from AXA XL in March 2020. After graduating from Oxford University with a Master of Physics degree in 2003, he joined Lane Clark & Peacock Actuarial Consultancy. He joined Catlin in 2008 and qualified as Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries (FIA). He was the property actuary responsible for pricing, reserving and capital modelling for all property lines worldwide across the group. He moved over onto the underwriting side in 2010 as class underwriter writing International and US D&F property business for the Lloyd’s of London Syndicate. He progressed to Underwriting Manager and established the middle market cost centre writing a combination of delegated authority and open market business. Michael will be writing a shared and layered D&F portfolio through the London Market Wholesale Broker network.

Robert is Ireland CEO and Pine Walk Europe CEO & CFO at Fidelis MGU. Robert joined Fidelis Insurance in September 2018. With over 18 years experience in the insurance and reinsurance industry, Robert was most recently at PartnerRe where he worked for 5 years in various finance roles including Head of External Reporting and as CFO of PartnerRe’s insurance entity. Robert began his career with PwC Dublin before transferring to their London office, working in the Global Capital Markets Group. He joined Aviva from PwC, working in Group Finance in London and managing their reinsurance captive in Dublin. He is a fellow of the Chartered Accountants of Ireland, qualifying in 2004.

Debbie Leen is Group Head of People at Fidelis MGU. Debbie joined the company in April 2023 as Head of Human Resources (HR). She has almost 30 years of experience within HR in financial services across insurance broking and underwriting, investment banking, investment management and wealth management. Prior to joining Fidelis MGU, Debbie worked at Arrow Global Group where she was HR Director for the investments division. She is a generalist and business partner by background with an interest across all aspects of HR. Debbie also has a degree in Applied Psychology from the University of Central Lancashire.

Charles is Deputy Chairman & Group Executive Director at Fidelis MGU. Charlie joined Fidelis Insurance in 2015 and brings over three decades of broking and underwriting experience.  Charlie was previously at Lancashire until November 2015 where he was Chief Risk Officer with responsibility for the group’s enterprise risk management. He started at Lancashire at its launch in October 2005, and his roles there also included Chief Underwriting Officer of the Bermuda entity and Group Underwriting Operations Director. Prior to 2005 he held a number of roles with brokers and MGAs in London, the USA and Mexico. Charlie is a member of the Executive Committee.

Hinal Patel is Group CFO of Fidelis MGU and Non-Executive Director of Fidelis Insurance Group.  He has more than 20 years of industry experience, specifically focused on the actuarial and financial sides of the sector. Patel joined Fidelis in 2015 as Group Chief Actuary, later becoming Group CFO in 2017 until the bifurcation of the company in the beginning of 2023. As Group CFO, he is responsible for the finance, investment, actuarial and corporate finance functions.  Prior to his time at Fidelis, Patel spent 12 years at Catlin as Bermuda Chief Actuary, overseeing actuarial, catastrophe modelling and capital functions for its Bermuda entity. He has also worked at a number of actuarial consultancies and graduated from the London School of Economics.

Rinku is an ICAEW qualified accountant having trained with BDO and moving to Andersen. Rinku was CFO/COO of DUAL, CFO of Howden and Director of Finance at Hyperion before consulting in 2016/7 supporting a number of businesses in the intermediary space.  Industry Experience includes Software Development, Information businesses and Insurance (at DUAL, Howden and Hyperion).  Rinku founded Pine Walk in 2017 with Fidelis, as an MGA incubator, raised finance for Pine Walk and Radius and has since set up a further 6 MGAs.

Wendy is Head of Technical Operations at Fidelis MGU. She joined Fidelis Insurance in May 2017 bringing with her more than 30 years of experience, most recently as a Senior eMessaging Expert and Bureau Technical Accounts Manager at Swiss Re. Wendy has strong experience in both technical and operational roles, specifically focusing on electronic messaging areas and building electronic interfaces to handle the processing of ACORD messages for both the premium and claims workstreams. This includes both the ACORD4ALL and Ruschlikon EBOT and ECOT messaging initiatives.

Olivia is Head of Sustainability at Fidelis MGU. Olivia joined Fidelis Insurance in April 2022. She previously spent four years at Swiss Re in Zurich, initially in P&C Solutions in the Reinsurance unit and later as a senior member of the Investor Relations team. Prior to joining Swiss Re, Olivia was an equity analyst covering reinsurance and the London Market, with over eight years spent at Barclays, Deutsche Bank and Bank of America Merrill Lynch. Olivia started her career in 2008 as a strategy consultant covering M&A and financial services at Deloitte. She has an undergraduate degree from Oxford University, a master’s degree from the London School of Economics and is a CFA Charterholder.

Richard is Deputy Group CUO and CEO of Insurance at Fidelis MGU. Rich Coulson joined Fidelis Insurance in 2015. With fifteen years of insurance industry experience, including both underwriting and broking, Rich joined Fidelis from RK Harrison, where he was Executive Director of Political Risk, Structured Credit and Surety. His early career was spent at MMC Capital and Marsh, where he focused on structuring alternative risk transfer, and captive solutions. After Marsh, Rich spent three years at Hiscox underwriting the company’s space and satellite and offshore energy books – winning the Hiscox Award for Innovation whilst there, before returning to broking and serving as a partner at JLT, specialising in Credit and Political Risk. Rich was elected a fellow of both the Chartered Institute of Insurers and Chartered Institute of Risk Management eleven years ago and during his career has also won the IRM Award for Risk Analysis excellence and an ABI Young Insurer of the Year award – recognising his work on developing innovative new products within the insurance industry. Rich is a member of the Executive Committee.

Jonny is Head of Strategic Relationships at Fidelis MGU. Jonny joined Fidelis Insurance in July 2018. Bringing over 20 years’ experience, Creagh-Coen joins from Lancashire where he was Head of Investor Relations and Marketing for 10 years. Prior to that he was founding member of Execution Limited, which provided asset managers with execution, sales, trading, research and corporate access services. Jonny is a member of the Executive Committee.

Simon is Head of Partnership Underwriting & EEA CUO at Fidelis MGU. Simon joined Fidelis Insurance in 2019 from AmTrust where he was the Chief Underwriting Officer for the Mortgage & Credit division. Simon has over 20 years of experience in insurance in a variety of roles ranging from underwriting to operations to project management. Previously he was at General Electric and Genworth Financial. Simon holds a Masters of Engineering from the University of Cape Town.

Grahame is UK CFO & Group Controller at Fidelis MGU. Grahame has over 25 years' experience in the insurance and reinsurance industry. Grahame was previously at Aspen Insurance Group where he worked for 17 years in various finance roles, including as Group Financial Controller and most recently as Group Chief Accounting Officer and UK CFO. Prior to joining Aspen, Grahame was at KPMG in the Insurance audit practice where he was responsible for a portfolio of London market and international clients. Grahame began his career at Sedgwick Lloyd’s Underwriting Agency.  He is a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, qualifying in 1997.

Natalie is Group Communications Manager and Head of Charity Partnerships at Fidelis MGU, managing all internal and external communications for the firm as well as overseeing the charity partnerships through The Fidelis Foundation. She joined Fidelis Insurance in 2020 working in the CEO office. Prior to Fidelis MGU, Natalie was at MVision Private Equity Advisers where she worked closely with the CEO on company media relations and events. She has a Bachelor of Applied Science in Sport and Exercise Nutrition from the University of Otago.

Louise Group Head of Contract Wordings and Deputy Director of Underwriting at Fidelis MGU. Louise joined Fidelis Insurance in 2017 with over 28 years of industry experience, including both underwriting, broking and buying. Louise joined Fidelis Insurance from Hiscox, where she was a Group Reinsurance Contract Specialist.  Her early career was spent at the London Processing Centre and Denis Clayton after which she moved on to become Head of Contract Wordings for Swiss Re UK. Louise specialises in all lines of inwards and outwards reinsurance, together with bespoke and specialty insurance, supporting all of the underwriters across the group, including the structuring and development of innovative new products.

Robert is Ireland CEO and Pine Walk Europe CEO & CFO at Fidelis MGU. Robert joined Fidelis Insurance in September 2018. With 18 years experience in the insurance and reinsurance industry, Robert was most recently at PartnerRe where he worked for 5 years in various finance roles including Head of External Reporting and as CFO of PartnerRe’s insurance entity. Robert began his career with PwC Dublin before transferring to their London office, working in the Global Capital Markets Group. He joined Aviva from PwC, working in Group Finance in London and managing their reinsurance captive in Dublin. He is a fellow of the Chartered Accountants of Ireland, qualifying in 2004.

Charlie is Deputy Chairman & Group Executive Director at Fidelis MGU. Charlie joined Fidelis Insurance in 2015 and brings over three decades of broking and underwriting experience.  Charlie was previously at Lancashire until November 2015 where he was Chief Risk Officer with responsibility for the group’s enterprise risk management. He started at Lancashire at its launch in October 2005, and his roles there also included Chief Underwriting Officer of the Bermuda entity and Group Underwriting Operations Director. Prior to 2005 he held a number of roles with brokers and MGAs in London, the USA and Mexico. Charlie is a member of the Executive Committee.

Phil is Group Chief Risk Officer at Fidelis MGU. Phil joined Fidelis Insurance in 2015, building out the company’s catastrophe modelling team and in-house exposure management platform FireAnt. He began his insurance career in 2011 at Hiscox on their graduate scheme gaining in depth catastrophe modelling and exposure management experience across multiple lines of property and specialty business. In 2014 he joined Brit as Senior Exposure Management Analyst managing group and regulatory exposure reporting before joining Fidelis in Bermuda. At Fidelis Insurance Phil progressed to Head of Catastrophe Modelling in 2018 and Group Portfolio Manager in 2020, overseeing the optimization of Fidelis Insurance’ inwards and outwards catastrophe portfolios.

Hinal Patel is Group CFO of Fidelis MGU and Non-Executive Director of Fidelis Insurance Group.  He has more than 20 years of industry experience, specifically focused on the actuarial and financial sides of the sector. Patel joined Fidelis in 2015 as Group Chief Actuary, later becoming Group CFO in 2017 until the bifurcation of the company in the beginning of 2023. As Group CFO, he is responsible for the finance, investment, actuarial and corporate finance functions.  Prior to his time at Fidelis, Patel spent 12 years at Catlin as Bermuda Chief Actuary, overseeing actuarial, catastrophe modelling and capital functions for its Bermuda entity. He has also worked at a number of actuarial consultancies and graduated from the London School of Economics.

Rinku is an ICAEW qualified accountant having trained with BDO and moving to Andersen. Rinku was CFO/COO of DUAL, CFO of Howden and Director of Finance at Hyperion before consulting in 2016/7 supporting a number of businesses in the intermediary space.  Industry Experience includes Software Development, Information businesses and Insurance (at DUAL, Howden and Hyperion).  Rinku founded Pine Walk in 2017 with Fidelis, as an MGA incubator, raised finance for Pine Walk and Radius and has since set up a further 6 MGAs.

David is Group Head of Claims at Fidelis MGU. David joined Fidelis Insurance in 2020 following a 30 year career at Amlin, most recently as the Global Claims Director responsible for claims across all of their regulated entities. David has experience across multiple classes of business, managing technical claims as well as Operational and Strategic Claims Management roles. He has held a variety of Committee roles in the London Market through the years, and is a strong believer in delivering a first class claims experience for our Clients globally.

Gareth is the Bermuda CFO and Group Treasurer  at Fidelis MGU and a member of the Bermuda Executive Committee. Gareth has over 20 years’ experience in the insurance and reinsurance industry with significant experience in deal evaluation, execution, integration and carve-out separation from a financial and operational perspective. Prior to joining Fidelis, Gareth was a director in EY’s Strategy and Transactions teams in London and more recently in Bermuda. Gareth is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and a member of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Bermuda.

Andy is Chief Technology Officer at Fidelis MGU. With over 20 years’ experience in the IT industry, Andy joined Fidelis Insurance from Hiscox Re in 2015. As Head of Systems and Lead System Architect he was responsible for the architecture, design, construction and support of their core business systems, leveraging his deep technical knowledge and business expertise. Prior to joining Hiscox in 2011, Andy held several roles with companies in Canada and Bermuda, including the Royal Bank of Canada Financial Group, Paragon Bermuda, Logic Communications, and his own consulting firm FAIT Accomplis Solutions Inc.

Born in October 2015, Phenny has been a part of the Fidelis Insurance team her whole life and continues her important duties at Fidelis MGU. Bringing a natural joie de vivre, she happily greets and plays with clients and brokers especially when furnished with treats!

Born in April 2015, Phenny’s boisterous brother Salvador joined Fidelis Insurance in 2018 to share the Chief Canine Officer duties. Phenny & Salvador love nothing more than sharing client and broker entertainment and will continue to do so at Fidelis MGU!
